Pink toes!

Nora liked my pink toes so much that she actually allowed me to paint her toes yesterday. Anyone who knows Nora understands that it is a great fete (no pun intended) to get her to stay still for more than 10 seconds. She is very proud of her pink toes. She puts her toes next to mine and giggles.

No hands!

Drinking her sippy no handed!

Got yogurt?

Nora thoroughly enjoys feeding herself with her own spoon now. I am not sure how much food she actually gets while feeding herself.... Anyway, she is happy doing it so I guess she has got to learn. Enjoy the messy photos below.

More lake pics but inside

Nora wanted to test out her old bouncy seat... I think she may be a little big for it!

Nora and her sisters. It was extraordinarily difficult to get her to stay still with the dogs.... At least the dogs were tuckered out from swimming all day so they didn't move!

Lake'n it!

Nora hanging at the lake last weekend.

Clearly she enjoys her time on the pontoon.

Meeting the cousins from Austin, TX

On June 20th, we were able to see my cousins Lori, Kelly, Lukas and Nick at Lake Susan in Channy. They were in town for a visit all over MN and ND. Several of us got together to let the kids play while we chatted. The kids did not want to pose for any pictures so her are a few action shots of the day. Izzy, Lukas, Nick and Nora all liked each other. It was great seeing Lori and crew!

You will need to turn your head to view these..oops

Here are a few videos from Father's Day. I know. I know.. they are upside down-oops! Enjoy!

What is Nora doing now?

So, I hear the question "what is Nora doing now?" quite a bit. I love to hear the question as I am so proud and excited about our little Nora. I figured a lot of people are interested in what she is doing so I will write an update regarding that question. As many of you know, Nora started walking right after her 1st birthday in March. In April while vacationing in Maui, Nora started to run... well, that is all she does now. She seriously is as fast as a cheetah (I think they are fast). All we do is chase her. Let me tell you it is super fun but man alive my butt is out of shape! Thank God it has allowed me to lose about 3 pounds--we need to times that by 8 or 9 then I will be looking HOT (well not hot, but good). In addition to walking/running Nora is also using some sign language that she is learning(ed) at school. She signs more, please and all done. It is the best ever. She also enjoys blowing kisses to just about anyone (especially old men-is that weird?). Nora says ball, this, that, mama, dadda, yeah, woofs at dogs (and most other animals), pa (for Grandpa), and.... that is about it. She babbles like crazy though. I think she will be speaking very soon. I am excited for her to start talking but I have a feeling that it will never stop..... Guess that runs on the Olson side. Nora also likes to smell flowers and feet. Yes, I know the feet thing is weird but it is funny. Nora also is able to identify certain body parts like nose, feet, toes, eyes, ears etc. What else???? Oh most of you will find it shocking that she is loud... I have NO idea where she gets her loudness from-do you? Well, I cannot think of anything else except for the fact that Pete and I are totally in love with her. She makes us laugh all of the time, she makes us proud and so happy!

Others have asked what her stats are. At her 15 month check in June she weighed 20 lbs 2 oz and was 29 1/2 inches tall (about half my height).... she is in the 25% for just about everything. That is pretty darn good for our preemie.

Now that I have babbled and used horrible grammar... I am done with this post. I will do better at updating about her milestones etc. I need to find the camera to upload some pictures now. We were up at the lake last weekend!

Makayla Ann---welcome to the world!

Congrats to Missy and Mike. They welcomed in a beautiful and healthy baby girl into this wonderful world on Thursday, June 26th at 11:23 pm. She was 6 lbs 7 oz and 19 inches long. She is so cute! She has dark hair like her daddy and eyes like her mommy (at least for now--they change so fast). We (Nora and I) had the opportunity to visit Missy, Mike and Makayla in the hospital on Friday. I brought my camera with us on Friday but my dumb@$$ forgot it in the car. Thankfully Jenny had hers. Nora is excited to have a new pal! Congrats to the M's!

Father's Day 2008

Nora is a lucky gal to have such an awesome dad. I am lucky to have him as my husband! We are also lucky to have my dad in our lives too! We had a fantastic day on Sunday. We went to the park, played in the yard, had a big breakfast then a BBQ with my side of the family. Beautiful weather too!
Nora's laughter makes my day.
Her smile melts my heart.
I would love to be a kid again!
Notice the beat up knee? Times that by 2 now!

Izzy: She is wearing the green boots and not crying!

Our cousin Izzy gave Nora the green boots showcased below. We tried to put them on Nora last week and she freaked out! She thought she was pretty sweet in them this past weekend though!

Visiting the relatives in O town

We went to Omaha last weekend. We encountered some bad weather while we were there. Everyone is fine. We did not have electricity from Sunday morning at 3 am until after we left on Monday morning. Poor Nona lost all of her food in her fridges and freezers. We are sorry we missed seeing a few people while we were there... next time!
I simply love this picture of Nora
