Thanksgiving 2008
Was Thanksgiving really just last week? Here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving at my parents house. I will upload some pics with the friends soon. Those pictures are on our other camera.
We were responsible for bringing desserts. Please see the lovely "Turkey Dinner" cake we brought. Don't worry, we brought some pies too!
Nora with Jody eating the dip off the veggies. God forbid she actually would eat a veggie.
So, we tried... I swear we have the worst luck with family photos!
Pete getting Nora all geared up to eat! She only ate my mom's cranberry salad and mashed potatoes.

Lissie offered to make Green Bean Casserole (GBC) for TG. As we were walking out the door to go to my parents Lissie calls and asks me to bring a 3qt casserole dish as somehow my parents after 40 years of marriage do not have one. I grab one and we are off. When we get there we notice a bag of onion rings on the counter. I was like WTF are those for.... Lissie told me to shut up as she didn't understand what type of onion topping she was suppose to buy for the GBC. We laughed... In all honesty onion rings was not a bad idea. So, she places the GBC in the oven and bakes it. She goes to check on it and it is more than runny. She is freaking out. Pete finds the recipe and discovers that she failed to drain the beans from the chicken broth as instructed so they get the beans out and drain them. They also add some sour cream, cheese and whipping cream to thicken it up. When it appeared done someone tasted it and almost puked. She put a 1/2 cup of salt in the GBC. I tried it and nearly had a heart attack on the spot. I spit it out in the sink. It was the nastiest tasting food ever. At least Lissie made a traditional Taco Dip and some Monster Cookies (which she thought no one had ever heard of before) and those items were good. Please see the masterpiece of GBC below.
