Say Cheese (ball)!

Nodding off Nora!

Nora got a little sleepy at school last week. Check out the timeline below.
This snack is good!
YUMMY.
This snack is making me tired.
Nora? Hello?
Long blink?
Nope... Sound asleep
I don't think anyone will notice I am sleeping if I am still sitting up
My head got a little heavy.

Out like a light!
OOOH that was a good power nap.
I feel so refreshed. Do I have any snack on my face?

Maybe I should have slept a little longer. The next day at snack time. Nice banana mouth!

Laughing Video....

This is my first time uploading a video through blogger onto our blog... Well, lets see if it works. I know, I am a TOTAL dork... Many of you already know that I am a dork but to those of you who thought I was a cool cat--your feelings are about to change when you see my sweet moves in the video. Nora thinks I am cool though and that is what matters, right?

First trip to the dentist....

I never imagined that I would be posting Nora's first trip to the dentist at age 14 months.... Well, I am. Yesterday morning Nora and I were hanging out in the kitchen. She was busy taking Tupperware out of the drawers and I was cleaning up after breakfast. Nora was being silly and pulled my pajama pants down and starting spanking me. It was very funny. After a minute or so of her doing that I slowly turned around to see if she was still holding onto my pants so I could pull them back up. When I turned, she must have thought I was going to chase her or tickle her or something because she made a quick pivot while starting to run.... That's when the face plant into the hardwood floor occurred. She cried for a few minutes. After some consoling from me and owie bunny she was fine. We were playing in the family room when noticed something different about her smile. I picked her up and looked in her mouth and she was/is missing 1/3 of her front tooth. I called the doctor who instructed me to call our family dentist. I called the dentist and they were kind enough to squeeze us in. Dr. Brimacomb (my dentist since age 4 or 5) said that she more than likely will have a discolored (black tooth) until her permanent teeth come in between ages 6 and 8. The tooth is also very sharp but we can deal with that later if it is bothersome. Now when we go visit Leslie & Jacob in GA, Nora will fit right in! hahaha. To top off our day, Nora spiked a 102.3 fever. She had been running a low grade fever all weekend but it got high on Monday afternoon. We brought her into the doctor and they said no ear infection but possibly strep--no strep but a virus. Meaning, I am home today with her. She only slept 4 hours last night.... Poor kid. Lets hope tomorrow is better.
Nora and Dr. Brimacomb. I had the bad camera again but look at Nora's adorable smile!

Getting flowers....

Sunday morning we made the trip to Holasek Greenhouses to get flowers. Nora and I stopped there the day before to sniff things out while Pete was up north on a boys trip. We needed the head greens keeper with us though to buy anything.... When Nora and I were there on Saturday the owner told me to come back with my camera and we could take pictures of Nora in the flower beds. We brought our old camera along so the picture quality is not that great-oh well. Check out the photos below!

Hey Nona: This pansy is for you. I know you like them a lot!

Swinging Queen!

Nora and her friend Nick went swinging together on Saturday morning. Stacey and I took the kids around Starring Lake prior to the park and swings. They had a super time together. Nora is addicted to swinging. She could hang out for an hour swinging... It is cute except for when we try to take her out-she gets a little upset. After the park, Nora had to get all ready for Bob Carlson's 65th birthday party. We had a delightful time at the party. Unfortunately we did not take any photos.
Nora and Nick swinging like pros.
Look at that smile!

I love how her arm is just resting on the swing.

My daddy rules-he made me this chair!

Pete made Nora a kidadirondack chair! It rules. He presented it to her this morning. She screamed with delight. It was so cute. She ran to the chair and made herself comfortable. I can only imagine how proud Pete felt when he witnessed her reaction. Way to go Swarty!
I fit perfectly in this thing!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you put some cup holders on the armrests, please?
I am so cool!
Let's build a fire in the fire pit.
I am just going to kick back and relax!

Happy (belated) Mother's Day!

We did not celebrate a belated Mother's Day, I simply am making the post late. I had a great MD! Pete and Nora made it very special. I got to sleep in which was delightful. Nora joined me after she had her breakfast. There is nothing better than snuggling with her. She is so cozy, sweet and peaceful. When we got up, we enjoyed a big breakfast compliments of Pete. Nora, Chloe, HG and Pete had flowers waiting for me and a GC to the spa! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! After breakfast we lounged around and played outside. We went to Old Chicago for pizza during the mid afternoon which was delicious since I have been craving their pizza! We came home took a nap then went to my parents for dinner. There was about 10 of us there. Lissie made a mean meatloaf and mashed potatoes. After that, we went home, Nora went to bed and I met my neighbor friends at Axel's for wine! Delightful. Thanks to Nora, Pete, HG and C for a special day!
Nora made this for me at school. It reads "Sometimes you get discouraged because I am so small and always leave my fingerprints on furniture and walls. But everyday I am growing-I'll be grown up someday and all those tiny hand prints will surely fade away. So here's a special hand print just so you can recall exactly how my fingers looked when I was very small." OK, it makes me cry to read it. So sweet!
