Memorial Day Weekend and Chloe's injury

First weekend at the lake in 2010! We had a great time boating, fishing, playing in the sand, being outside, shopping, eating, celebrating Pete’s birthday (after we got home from the lake). The only bummer… Chloe got hurt. Those of you who have seen Chloe in the water know that she LOVES the water. She is 10 years old and acts like a pup every time she gets near water. She can launch 15 feet of the dock to fetch toys. Pete was tossing a stick to Chloe and Hula Girl on Saturday and Chloe went under the dock and sliced her head open down to her skull. Surprisingly, she did not bleed…. Can you believe that? Pete hurried her to the animal hospital in Brainerd where she needed to stay the night to get stitched up. She has 7 pink stitches on her head. The injury hasn’t seemed to faze her at all. We left the lake Sunday (somewhat planned) which was a good thing since Chloe can not be in the lake for 2 weeks. Anyway, we got home and she is doing great.

Happy 39th Birthday, Pete! His birthday was Sunday and with everything going on, his day was not as special as he probably was hoping it would be. We will make it up to him soon! Love you, Bub!

Nora's first fish of the year! She caught about 8 total! Way to go, N!

Fun times....

Here are a few random shots from the past few months....

Chef Nora

Jenny and Jeff welcomed Viviana Colette on April 5th. Nora was so excited to go see her. It was so fun seeing Nora with a baby. She was kissing on Vivi and so proud to hold her. I look forward to October when she becomes an official big sister herself! She will be such an awesome big sis. She is already practicing up.

Look at that smile!

Lil V is so cute!

Nona gave her a sleeping bag for her birthday... She loves the sleeping bag but she loves her pink poodle even more. We were reading a book the other night and there was a pink poodle in the story, she stopped and said "that's my dog."

Testing out the scooter.

Party time in our yard

Like the "39?" Our friends mowed that in our yard in honor of Pete's 39th birthday this year.

Sleepover at Auntie Lissies then off to the Como Zoo

Auntie Lissie hosted her first sleepover at her house with Nora. From the pictures I have seen, the stories I have been told and the permasmile on Nora’s face when we picked her up, they had a great time! Alissa took Nora out to eat with some of her girlfriends, then they hit up the DQ, went on a walk, went to the park, had multiple dance parties, watched “Tinkerbell” and stayed up until 10……. Good times!

We hosted QDC (Quarterly Dinner Club) at our house the night of the sleepover. This preggers gal was up until 230 am.... I was a bit tired the next day but we sure did have fun with everyone at our house.

After we picked Nora up, we headed over to the Como Zoo where we had a few hours of fun. Nora enjoyed all of the animals and rides. She became brave and rode some rides by herself!
Leaving Lissie's... See the smile?????

Giddy up

Nora and some random girl on the cars

Tea cup ride... Of course I could not take her on any rides since I am pregnant. Pete was not feeling so hot on this ride. I thought he might throw up! He was a trooper and survived and even had a few good laughs with his little girl.

A ride they both liked... Bumper cars. Man do I wish I could have gone on this one!

Easter 2010

Easter 2010 was spent in Omaha. We had a great time. It was nice to finally see Molly, Andy and Ella again as we missed them at Christmas. It was of course delightful seeing the rest of the Swarty’s as well as our friends. Nora had a blast with her cousins as usual, they had fun playing outside, dying eggs, dancing, chasing each other around, you name it! We wish her cousins lived closer by so they could always have a lot of fun together. Nora was spoiled by her Nona the entire weekend too. She sat with her Nona during church and was a perfect little lady. Enjoy the photos.
The Swartzbaugh's are not Mexican but definitely enjoy Mexican activities like breaking a pinata on Easter.....

So proud of her collection

Nora had a 3rd birthday party in March...

Nora celebrated her 3rd birthday on March 4th. As you have seen on my previous post, we were in Maui for that big day. We had a party on March 27th to celebrate our big 3 years olds special day. We had a Hawaiian themed party and most of the kids and most of the adults came dressed for the occasion. The kids had a great time playing in the basement. They enjoyed some fierce kitchen time and some posh dress up time as well as running around like wild animals. Nora sure had a great time. It was quite humorous that Nora got sick of opening her presents and allowed her friends to open her presents for her. What 3 year old does that???? Oh well, her friends had fun ripping and tearing. I still cannot believe my little peach is already 3.

We attempted to get a group shot... Not bad for kids ranging from 1-5!

Birthday cake time!

I am sure every parent feels this way but our little Nora's smile melts my heart.

Nora hanging out on the chair while I assisted her friends in opening presents :)

I am kind of tired of opening presents... Can we eat cake?
