In December Nora had her very first Holiday program. Her school put on just a darling show. Unfortunately, Nora cried throughout the entire program. The minute she came off the stage, she wanted back up and was happy! Gotta love how unpredictable kids are. Nora was also lucky enough to have breakfast with Santa. The Rec center arranges this each year. Santa brings his reindeer and everything. They have this awesome pancake griddle that makes about 75 pancakes at a time and then the chef throws them to the hungry people and you have to catch them. It was so fun. We will go back next year.
We spent Christmas in Omaha with Pete's side of the family. We were there for over a week. We had a delightful time seeing them along with a lot of our friends. We ended up flying down as the weather was so crummy between MN and NE. The flight is much better than the drive! We celebrated Christmas with my parents and sister when we got back from Omaha. We had a nice time.
We brought in the New Year with the Rollins family. They had us over for some good food and conversation. Ellie and Nora had a blast as usual.
Nora used the potty on December 29th for the very first time! She went poop for Auntie Lissie! She also went pee on the potty on January 5th at the doctors office. She asked me if she could go potty and low and behold the little lady started tinkling on the potty. It brought tears to my eyes. She was so proud as was I. She got a sticker from one of the nurses as her reward. Yeah Nora. She hasn't gone since but is still interested.
December also brought the death of my aunt Janice. She lost her fight with lung cancer on December 27th. We are saddened by her death but also relieved that she is out of pain now. She lived a marvelous life. She lived everyday to the fullest. She was an optimist even during bad times. She raised 4 lovely children and had wonderful grand kids. She was a one of a kind aunt. She brought us lots of laughter and good times. She is missed. We had a nice celebration of life on Sunday near Dawson. The Service was lovely and the stories told about her were delightful.
Back to happy times. Below are several pictures (not in order) of the past month or so. Enjoy! Our little angel is getting so big. She is such a delight. She is talking more and more each day. She has sweet dance moves and a contagious fun loving personality. We are so lucky to have such a fabulous daughter. We love her more and more each day.
A few funny Nora things. Nora loves to "look" for things. Let's say she loses one of her dolls. She starts yelling "Nay Nay where are you?" and when she is looking and cannot find what she is looking for she says "Nope" Nope" until she finds the item! It is cute. She also likes lipstick. She taunts the dogs with food quite a bit and humans too. She will be eating something and then put the cracker or whatever up to one of our mouths and then pull it away and put it in her mouth... STINKER. She thinks it is so funny (which it is).
Nora has become a master in the kitchen. She helped me make cupcakes for Missy Levy's birthday.
She had fun with the sprinkles. They were every where!
OK, so this picture... One night Pete was out with some friends. I got Nora down for bed and I was doing things around the house. She woke up around 11 crying. Remember, she has had an ear infection for over a month now... I tried to get her back down and she was screaming. I finally put her in our bed and she fell asleep. A little while later I was out in the kitchen and I hear this little voice yell HI! It was Nora. I about caca'd my pants! She still sleeps in a crib and she was out like a light in our bed so I never imagined I would see her... Well, she was wired so I said to myself "you can either be mad or you can enjoy this moment to the fullest." I chose the latter and we played for awhile (until about midnight) and laughed so hard and had fun. She thought my boots would look good on her.
Fancy shoes!
Nora loves the bath and her bubbles.
Ellie on NYE playing guitar!
Nope, this was not planned. We showed up at the Rollins and they were dressed the same! Too funny!
Nora at the doctors office. She asked me to take her picture and then needed to see it immediately. After she saw this picture she said "AWWWW"

She got it! My parents gave Nora this kitchen for Christmas. She loves it! Every time we go to PBK she plays with it. Now she has one of her own.
I think her Auntie likes it too. Lissie put a picture of herself on the fridge of it... Weirdo.
Cooking again!
Post Christmas celebration with my family.
OOOH is that a scowl?
Nora at Nona's sitting in a tiny chair.
Playing with Nona's pretend kitchen. Where are your pants? Oh that's right, you like to take them off!
Cooking away.

Nora has had a tough time sleeping due to her ear infections. One night in Omaha she was not going to bed. Pete hopped in her crib with her.... OOPS, sorry Leslie, don't be mad. It is still in one piece.
