Hula Girl post TPLO surgery
Hula Girl had to have TPLO surgery yesterday. Basically she had ACL/MCL surgery.... She did not have any ligaments left in her knee and almost her entire meniscus was gone. We are so proud of our little Hula that she did so well. I hope she has a speedy recovery. Last night was tough on all of us. She cried much of the night because of the pain, anxiety and because she was kenneled. After awhile, Pete made her a comfy zone in our dining room and barricaded her in there. She cannot do much of anything right now. She needs to be on carpeted areas, kenneled when we are not around and when we are she needs to be in confined and carpeted area. She also needs us to walk her outside to go to the bathroom. We (now Pete) need to lift her hind legs with a towel sling to assist her in going down the stairs to go potty. It is so sad to see her in pain. Chloe has been a good big sister. She is a little confused and we think part of her is thinking she is next! She tends to "hide" when it is time to go outside etc. Hula's recovery will take between 8 and 14 weeks. Let's hope closer to 8. Nora also has been sweet to Hula and gave her a sticker on her leg to make it better.
