Don't fall out of your chair

Do I dare update our blog??? Being a mom of 2, a wife and working full time is taking a toll on my blog posting. I feel awful that I have not been documenting the lives of our children very well… Anyway, all of us are doing well.

Henry was baptized on March 6, 2011. We had most of our family at the event which was nice. Jenny, Chris and Tim are Henry’s Godparents and we are so thankful to them for playing such a large role in his life. After the ceremony, we went to Lola’s Lakehouse for brunch. It was a very nice day. Only downfall…

Nora was sick with a 103.6 fever… We thought it was her ears so we just gave her some tylenol. She was off and looked not so perky so we brought her in to the doctor on Monday and she was diagnosed with the flu. She missed an entire week of school which is uncommon for her.
Nora celebrated her 4th birthday in March. We had family in town for Henry’s Baptism the same weekend as her birthday so we had a family party for her the weekend of her birthday and she loved celebrating with them. Nora also had a “party with her friends at the Eden Prairie Community Center where they had a bounce house and other fun activities for the kids to do. She had a blast!

Henry took his first plane ride in March to Maui. He did a terrific job as a first time flier at the ripe age of 6 months. Nora, our little veteran flier also did a fabulous job. We had a lovely time on our trip. Nora had a blast building sand castles, meeting new friends, like Josie from Colorado, swimming in the pool and the ocean, taking a boat out in the ocean looking at whales and turtles, she also had fun having dinner at Bumpa and Ama’s place and just being a 4 year old kid on vacation. Henry enjoyed early morning trips to the beach but by midday he went to Bumpa and Ama’s condo to nap. Henry also enjoyed taking dips in the pool and napping occasionally on the beach. We didn’t do anything crazy but we did have fun relaxing and spending special time with our kids and family.

The H man’s first tooth popped through April 14, 2011. It was his bottom right tooth. Shortly after the other bottom one came in. The bottom teeth were uneventful for the most part as far as pain etc. goes. The top 4 teeth that are coming in right now, 2 which we can see the tips of have been a little rough on our little guy. Pete is calling them his summer teeth as some are here and some are there. The top two popping through are his eye teeth and he has his two middle bottom ones…. Lookin’ good.

Our first ear infection experience with Henry occurred May 9, 2011. This ear infection lasted until the end of June. 4 different antibiotics were used and a trip to the ENT was had. He is not getting tubes at this time but may need them in the fall.

Nora had her first dance recital in May. It was a fun event. She loves to perform.

We have made it up to the lake a few times this summer. We are very fortunate to have such a nice retreat to go to whenever we want to go. Nora loves the “lake cabin” more and more each visit. She enjoys swimming, tubing, boating, fishing, dancing and going to the yellow house for ice cream. Henry likes the boat and being outside.

The Goddard School welcomed our little man to their school April 12, 2011. He has adjusted beautifully and we are fortunate that he has such loving and caring teachers there just like Nora has. My dad was watching him on Tuesday’s until after Memorial Day. He had to cut his stint short as he was injured on the boat and had to have rotator cuff surgery… he is still not back in shape so it appears H is there 3 days a week just like his big sis.

Henry began crawling on Friday, July 1, 2011. He had been in position for quite some time but never had to actually crawl because Nora will get him whatever he wants. He finally took off while we were up at the lake! He is also pulling himself up and standing in place. I wonder when the walking will start. I hope not for a couple of months, he really needs to enjoy crawling for a little while, right?

Well, that is an update on our kids. I am sure I left out a lot of stuff. Enjoy the pictures! (they are not in order) Oh and I hope to have some more up to date photos posted sometime very soon, hopefully July.
